The Guardian: UK rules out alliance with Bashar al-Assad in fight against Isis

London. Philip Hammond, the foreign secretary, has bluntly rejected calls for Britain to enlist Syria's president, Bashar al-Assad, as an ally in the fight against Islamic State (Isis) extremists, the Guardian reports.
