Krasimira Toteva, PR of the Spirit of Burgas music festival, talks about the forthcoming 5th Spirit of Burgas music festival, which will take place on August 3, 4, and 5 in Burgas, in an interview for Focus News Agency.
Focus: Ms Toteva, have any artists cancelled their participation, or are there any changes in the programme of the Spirit of Burgas 2012 music festival, after the terrorist attack on Burgas Airport in Sarafovo?
Krasimira Toteva: There are neither cancellations, nor any changes in the programme.
Focus: What security measures have you taken, in order to guarantee people’s safety?
Krasimira Toteva: The security measures this year will be enhanced and they are among the things upon which we have concentrated a lot of effort. This will be the fifth consecutive edition of the Spirit of Burgas music festival, and the biggest so far, so we cannot make any compromises with the security measures. With the help of the Burgas Municipality and the local authorities, we are doing everything possible in order to make the guests and artists feel comfortable and safe during the festival, as in the same time we do not want this to impede or limit in any way the wish of all fans to have fun and enjoy fully the performances of their favourite musicians.
Focus: Will the enhanced security measures reflect in any way the guests’ pleasures from the festival?
Krasimira Toteva: No. We will do everything possible so that the guests of Spirit of Burgas to feel simultaneously safe and to have a great time.
Focus: How many visitors do you expect this year, and has the proper organisation been made, in order to receive all guests of Burgas?
Krasimira Toteva: We expect nearly 30,000 people. The organisation is immaculate and everything is going according to plan. We work with the best professionals in the branch, including 24/7 Event Company and Joker Media Rental, Solar and ONFestival, and we hope that each and every visitor of Spirit of Burgas 2012 will leave the festival with a smile and with a sense of satisfaction from what they have seen, heard, and experienced during the three days of the festival.
Focus: What are the most interesting events and who are the most interesting performers, which you have included in the fifth edition of the festival – Spirit of Burgas 2012?
Krasimira Toteva: This year there will be at least one headliner each night on each stage, which is happening for the first time and reaffirms the fact that Spirit of Burgas is the biggest music event in Bulgaria. The headliners on the Main Stage are Busta Rhymes (August 3), The Prodigy (August 4), and Korn (August 5). The most famous names on the new electronic music stage Solar Dance Arena are Armin van Buuren on Friday, Mark Knight on Saturday, and Richie Hawtin on Sunday. Jack Daniel’s Rock Arena will be rocked by Ostava, Svetlio and the Legends, and Milena on Friday, Last Hope and Kontrol on Saturday, and The Jim Jones Revue and Odd Crew on Sunday. The Na Tamno Freestyle Stage will be headlined by Django Ze and Upsurt on Friday, Conquering Lion and the titanic clash of the stars of R&B Records vs Sniper Records, and on August 5 we will see DRS, Nokaut and Papa Sapka. On the BraZZo BraZZie powered by Nissan stage we will dance all night with Sentimental Swingers & Mihail Yossifov Sextet on Friday, Frankie Morales, Ruth Koleva and Southwick on Saturday, and Mango Duende and Brazz ViliDJ & Friends on Sunday. There will be a lot of new entertainment zones on Spirit of Burgas 2012, places for recreation, food and ones for walks. We will have foosball tables, bodyart, fun games, and more surprises.
Focus: Have you sold out the tickets, and which are the events that attract most interest?
Krasimira Toteva: The sales are going great, as the interest towards Spirit of Burgas is enormous this year, which can only make us happy, as our efforts to provide such a strong line-up this year will be rewarded.
Focus: How does the Burgas Municipality participate in the organisation of Spirit of Burgas 2012, and what kind of support do you receive from the municipal administrationÁ
Krasimira Toteva: From the very first edition of Spirit of Burgas, the Burgas Municipality has been a co-organiser and has helped us with everything possible. This year we signed the contract for the next four years, so we believe that our joint efforts to make Spirit of Burgas an annual event with traditions are worth it. We truly believe that each following year the festival will be better, bigger, and more attractive to music fans than the previous year.
Focus: What kind of advice will you give to people, in order to avoid any incidents or unnecessary tension?
Krasimira Toteva: To come to the festival with the wish to have fun, to hear their favourite bands and music, and to spend three unforgettable festival days and nights, as each year. People with aggressive behaviour, weapons, and anything else that contradicts to the security measures, will not be allowed in the Spirit of Burgas festival.
