Ivaylo Moskovski - Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications, in an interview for Sunday 150 radio talk show on BNR

Host: Mr. Moskovski, you were in front of the cameras these days and gave various interviews, moreover, commented on a strongly unpopular topics, including the crime of cocaine and the Bulgarian ship St. Nicholas. Also, in a very strange contrast you announced that the European Union have to be asked for the excise duty on fuels in Bulgaria. On the other hand, today you say: The European Union will take care of the price of fuel. Have a great dynamic in the presentation of information. What is the reason?
Ivaylo Moscow: It was a guess on my part. I can not make, nor to instruct the European Union to take measures on this topic. That is exactly what I said - I guess that if fuel prices go into some uncontrolled growth, and I guess it is logical that the European Union itself will take some strategy in this regard, as each country separately - speaking for those which are members of the European Union - I suppose that the mechanisms to regulate fuel prices are the same everywhere and they are many.

Host: Then we simply expect?
Ivaylo Moskovski: Actually, the function of government that can do something is only towards the duty and tax. But of course, it is within the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance and I could not comment. By taking the cost of fuel, how it is formed, you will see that in fact the key elements inside in which the state may impact are those – there is not others.

Host: Now let's touch upon issues that are in your jurisdiction. It's the story with the Bulgarian ship St. Nicholas. Besides that you talk about the bad name that comes to the Bulgarian Navy, how your ministry could help?
Ivaylo Moskovski: Absolutely everything is a matter of the Maritime Administration, or other structures of the ministry. If investigators need any information, we are ready to provide it, though perhaps the only case that we can provide is a register of seafarers and any details about whether they had undergone training courses in our training centres and things of that nature.

Host: This information will be needed in Bulgarian investigation.
Ivaylo Moskovski:If needed. Currently I am not informed on the course of the inquiry, but what is necessary, of course, that will render full assistance to the investigating authorities.

Host:What about the involvement of staff of the ship St. Nicholas, of those 21-22 sailors ...
Ivaylo Moskovski: I can not comment anything; this is the subject of investigations. I only said that I hope most of the sailors from the ship's personnel had been unaware. And if it is proved that, it would be good, if not it would be pity, because it undermines the image of the whole maritime community in the state.
