Utrinski vesnik: No common position on name dispute
7 November 2009 | 11:07 | FOCUS News Agency
Skopje. Macedonian political elite has entered into a key phase of the negotiations on name issue, without having common strategy and without definition of the red line they should not pass, Macedonian Utrinski vesnik newspaper writes. The edition noted the question whether something will change as of November 16, when it is envisaged the negotiations between Athens and Skopje to be resumed with the mediation of the special UN Mediator Matthew Nimetz.
“Impressions are that contradictions have increased over the last days after the verbal attack of the Democratic Union for Integration, unbalanced positions between President Gjorge Ivanov and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and the disputes between VMRO-DPMNE and the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia. Telephone talks between Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Branko Crvenovski (Social Democratic Union of Macedonia) Ali Ahmeti (leader of the Democratic Union for Integration) and Imer Selmani (leader of New Democracy) after the meeting of Macedonian PM with his Greek counterpart George Papandreou has not changed the notion everyone has tried to attract people at his side, when in comes to the complicated dispute with Greece, on which the European integration of Macedonia depends on, Utrinski vesnik writes.
