EP backs EU banking supervisory system plans

Strasbourg. Draft laws setting up a single EU bank supervisory system were approved in a plenary vote on Wednesday, a press release informs. The European Central Bank will supervise the Eurozone's largest banks directly and have a say in supervising other banks. However, Parliament will give its final seal of approval only later, to allow time for parallel talks with the ECB on detailed accountability arrangements.
Bulgaria President starts constitutional procedure on handing govt formation mandate

Sofia. President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, will hold consultations with the parliamentary represented political parties in the 42nd National Assembly before handing the mandate for the formation of a new government, the press centre of the President’s Office announced.
