Kiev. Ominous new action by Ukraine’s security forces on Monday, including a raid on an opposition party’s headquarters, appeared to diminish prospects for talks between the government and protest leaders, as Western officials grasped for a way to defuse the country’s intensifying political crisis, the New York Times reports.
Sofia. This week the EU will discuss a draft resolution, in which there is a suggestion for the European Parliament (EP) and the European Commission (EC) to send a mission to Kiev for intermediary negotiations in the search for a solution to the Ukrainian crisis. A co-signatory to the resolution is the MEP from the European People’s Party (EPP) and former Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky.
