Bulgaria parliament did not annul decision on suspending Belene NPP project11 January 2017 | 14:13 | FOCUS News Agency
The draft decision on the annulment of the previously made decision was filed by the parliamentary group of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) [BSP Left Bulgaria].
It was voted down with 50 votes “for”, 64 votes “against”, while 24 MPs abstained.
The draft decision filed by BSP envisaged assigning the Council of Ministers with the task to guarantee the realisation of the project and oblige the minister of energy to inform about the progress on the issue once in every three months.
According to the socialists, the project is profitable and if the previously made decision on its suspension is not annulled, the Prosecutor’s Office would “deal with every single minister, who continues acting towards project’s realisation without having an official decision from the cabinet.”
