The amount of the concession payments for each calendar year of the concession period is determined in accordance to the Methodology for determining the minimum amount of concession payment for beaches, adopted by the Council of Ministers, as well as the sums proposed by concessioners.
The cabinet also approved the signing of an additional agreement with the concessioner of the Arkutino beach, for fortifying the breakwater located in it. The facility reinforces the bank and protects from waves, and is used as a pier as well. The concession contract signed in 2001 for a 20 year period did not include investments after 2010. Despite this, the concessioner prepared and presented investment programmes for each year with pledged funds for environment and water protection, as well as combating landslides, erosion and abrasion in the region. Based on the additional agreement, the concessioner of the coastal beach will be strengthening the breakwater, in accordance to the Concession Act. The signing of the additional agreement will determine an addition subject of concession for carrying out construction work on the breakwater, with financing proposed by the concessioner, and amounting to BGN 434,000. Considering the investments made, the term of the concession is extended until 2027.
