MPs to elect ombudsman by open vote22 February 2018 | 11:30 | FOCUS News Agency
So far the ombudsman has been elected by secret ballot. The Parliament decided that an ombudsman can be nominated not only by MPs and parliamentary groups but also by non-profit legal entities. The MPs kept the rule according to which an ombudsman is elected when a candidate receives more than half the votes. The deputy ombudsman will be nominated by the ombudsman and voted by the National Assembly a month after the ombudsman’s election.
