Sofia. I will defend my rights in court over defamation by Tsvetan Tsvetanov, MP Elena Yoncheva, Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), told reporters in response to Tsvetanov’s allegation that she siphoned money off the now bankrupt Corporate Commercial Bank (CorpBank), FOCUS News Agency reports. Yoncheva recalled that Bulgaria had been repeatedly sentenced by the European Court of Human Rights over previous allegations by Tsvetan Tsvetanov, who is currently the leader of Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB/GERB) in Parliament. Commenting on another issue, she urged the Prosecutor’s Office to launch an investigation into corruption based on a report from the State Agency for National Security about prices in excess of market prices in the construction of the fence on the Bulgarian-Turkish border. She said it was a “huge corruption scheme” and “trade with national security.”Open in new tab
