Prime Minister Borissov’s visit to Russia has been coordinated for a long time, it is not urgent, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva told BNT
this morning. “There has long been coordination between Russia’s presidential institution and the [Bulgarian] government. The meetings will take place on May 30. Economic and energy topics, tourism, global issues will be discussed with Putin and Medvedev. You know there is an idea for Balkan Gas Hub. It is very important for Bulgaria to receive the supplies directly instead of paying for transit,” she added.
The deputy prime minister also commented on the case with the name of Bulgaria’s southwestern neighbour. “The name Ilinden Macedonia was a surprise to us. I am glad that negotiations continue and I hope for an agreement,” she said.
