At a meeting with the president of UNESCO, GERB MP and chairman of the Parliament’s culture committee Vezhdi Rashidov will propose the inclusion of the St. Stephen Church in Istanbul into UNESCO’s World Heritage List, he said during the 2nd International Congress on World Civilisations and Historical Routes, Focus News Agency
reports. According to Rashidov, Bulgaria is still unknown to the world although it is a place of old cultures. “We all need to understand something very important – the identification card of each country’s tourism is its cultural heritage. Bulgaria deserves its place in world culture,” he said.
