Sofia. The Appellate Special Court has ordered that the head of the National Social Security Institute – Silistra, Milen Penchev, be removed from office. Penchev was charged with participating in a scheme for granting higher pensions with counterfeit documents, bTV reported. The decision is final. A week ago at the first instance Penchev retained his position in the organisation, and only the head of the Pensions Department Stoyanka Simeonova was dismissed. The special court even then pointed out that the evidence gathered were sufficient to make a reasonable assumption that Penchev and Simeonova had involvement in the activities in the indictment.
