The budget for the project for emergency medical care through innovation in the cross-border Greece-Bulgaria region, under the Interreg VA Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 cooperation programme, amounts to EUR 1,390,000, the head of the emergency medical centre in Kardzhali, Dr. Atanas Mitkov, said to Focus Radio
. With funds equally allocated for the partners from both countries, the project promotes exchange of experience and cross-border cooperation to minimise the impact of incidents in the area. Surveys have been conducted to evaluate people’s satisfaction with medical services and workplace health and safety among the staff. In addition, campaigns this summer will promote healthy lifestyle and disease prevention with early diagnosis, Dr. Atanas Mitkov said. The network for cooperation and the planning of joint activities will continue after the end of the project in September 2019.
