Audrey Azoulay, UNESCO: Happy holiday and long live Bulgaria!24 May 2019 | 14:26 | FOCUS News Agency
Ms Azoulay said it was a great honour for her as a representative of UNESCO to celebrate 24 May in Bulgaria. "Language is the first environment in which we are accepted, through which a child perceives history and inherits its ancestors. Language is the thread of our humanity. It is what a human being conveys, receives and through which history exists,” she said.
“UNESCO protects cultural heritage and linguistic diversity, intangible heritage like songs, values, so that we can live in diversity. Promoting linguistic diversity means making languages become bridges between individuals," UNESCO Director-General said.
