Armed forces help to extinguish forest fire in Haskovo

Twenty servicemen with five vehicles from the Haskovo 52 740 military unit had participated since 06:15am this morning in the firefighting operation.
Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted over a negligently started fire in someone else's property, which resulted in a wildfire spreading in the forest and agricultural lands on 12 August 2019, the Appellate Prosecutor's Office – Plovdiv said. The investigation will clarify the cause of the fire, and after the fire’s complete localisation, an expert assessment will be carried out.

It is a surface fire, meaning that the forests have not been completely destroyed, firefighters explained.
This afternoon will be critical, with the rise in temperatures and wind. If the situation becomes complicated, a helicopter is on standby to take part in the suppression operation, the ad hoc committee in Lyubenovo said.
