In the course of their conversation, Prime Minister Borissov noted that Japan is a priority partner and traditional friend of this country.
The prime minister expressed confidence that the high-level meetings would add an additional impetus to the economic ties, which in turn is a prerequisite for an increased volume and scope of Japanese investments, as well as an increase in the number of Japanese tourists in Bulgaria. Borissov pointed out that Bulgaria has proven itself as a stable and predictable partner, with great potential for cooperation.
The Bulgarian prime minister said Bulgaria is interested in increasing its exports to Japan, and in strengthening the business contacts between the two countries in the field of information and communication technologies, automation, machine building, auto parts manufacturing, construction.
Prime Minister Borissov welcomed the initiative of Japanese Prime Minister Abe for cooperation with the Western Balkans, noting that the Western Balkans were a priority topic during the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council.
