The 38-year-old woman confessed to the crime and told the court she was ready to fully cooperate with the investigation. She said she was sending the money to a man she only met online.
The Varna District Court last week placed her under house arrest. The court today ruled that the accused is a flight risk and could make use of the stolen money that has not been found yet.
The court stated that the clean criminal record of the accused was not sufficient ground to change her measure of detention to a more lenient one.
If convicted, Nevena Yordanova faces 10 to 20 years in prison.
